Summary of Position
MIPI Alliance seeks a creative and experienced integrated communications and membership professional. The Program Manager, Integrated Marketing and Membership will plan, develop and lead the hands on implementation of the organization’s technical marketing, communications and membership (engagement, recruitment and retention) strategies and activities. This role will be responsible for both internal (member) and external (industry/public) marketing and communications activities guided in direction by an approved annual plan and budget.

Specific Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

Integrated Marketing and Communications

  • Responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive MIPI Alliance marketing, communications and brand strategy in the form of a rolling (6 month basis) annual plan approved by the MIPI Alliance Board of Directors.
  • Ensure plan includes press release timeline, website strategy and strategic utilization of a wide range of integrated marketing tactics (e.g., email, web, multimedia, MIPI Member Area, social media (You Tube, LinkedIn), etc.)
  • Create marketing and communications strategies for MIPI’s conferences, events, and presence/participation in external trade shows or conferences (e.g., Mobile World Congress and others identified, Speakers Bureau).
  • Coordinate external resources and budget necessary to implement MIPI’s marketing and communications activities (e.g., PR Firm, website development, graphic design, collateral development, etc.)
  • Lead new content development, including but not limited to, blogs, podcasts, videos, articles, etc.
  • Editor for MIPI Alliance Member Newsletter (currently issued quarterly).
  • Coordinate member company engagement in MIPI’s marketing activities, including the Marketing Working Group (MWG), in order to deliver value to the Alliance and its members.
  • Develop targeted communications for specific industry segments and potential members that serves to raise visibility of MIPI Alliance and the value of its specifications.
  • Collaborate with the MWG and Technical Working Groups (TWGs) on a project/activity basis to increase member engagement and collaborate with internal member content experts to identify target audiences, positioning and value.

o   Collaborate with TWGs to promote and support marketing of specification releases and other significant milestones or deliverables.

o   Develop and implement marketing and communications plans on a specification by specification basis.

  • Ensure brand and style consistency is adhered to across all communications channels.
  • Conduct market research and surveys and/or leverage research analysts to address current issues, topics and trends with MIPI’s areas of interest.
  • Represent MIPI Alliance at industry events including trade shows, conferences and speaking opportunities as assigned.


  • Working with the Managing Director, align MIPI’s strategies with activities to support membership engagement, recruitment and retention
  • Develop an internal member-facing marketing program for membership engagement and retention.
  • Lead generation of enhanced monthly and annual membership reports with trends and metric development and analysis.
  • Improve and/or develop systems for gathering, retaining and leveraging information regarding membership and membership engagement (e.g., membership database).
  • Lead the development and implementation of an Annual (at a minimum) MIPI Alliance Recognition Program
  • Implement annual MIPI Alliance Member Satisfaction Survey, analyzing and communicating results to the MIPI Board and Members.
  • Develop and implement a consistent new member onboarding process with the assistance of MIPI’s membership administration team and the development of membership related collateral.
  • Conduct new member orientation in order to onboard new members to MIPI Alliance activities.
  • Identify and engage current members companies that could/should benefit from increased participation in the Alliance.
  • Oversee the annual membership renewal process.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Master’s degree in Marketing, English or Communications
  • Technical Product Marketing experience or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of strategic brand marketing, membership and public relations experience. Agency or studio experience a plus. Events and tradeshow experience is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an association with a significant demonstrated track record in membership, marketing and public relations coordination.
  • Must be able to leverage member company resources and engagement to the mutual benefit of MIPI Alliance and its members.
  • Ability to manage external resources and coordinate at the strategic and tactical levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of brand marketing and social media strategies in business to business communications.
  • Experience in developing and managing a budget.
  • Experience and proven success in working with committees and members in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external resources including graphic designers, web development team, public relations firm, etc.
  • Adept analytical skills to meaningfully interpret research and statistics. Survey administration and analysis experience is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Domestic and International travel is required
