Implementers of the most widely used camera interface in mobile and other markets now have a new toolset to support their interoperability and conformance efforts. The MIPI Camera Working Group recently released conformance test suites (CTSs) for the four most recent versions of its MIPI Camera Serial Interface 2 (MIPI CSI-2℠) specification.
CTSs are documents used to improve the interoperability of products implementing a given MIPI interface specification. The CTS defines a set of conformance or interoperability tests whereby a product can be tested against other implementations of the same specification.
In this instance, the MIPI Camera Working Group developed CTSs for the CSI-2 transmitter and receiver protocol specifications. They are applicable for testing the latest CSI-2 version (3.0), as well as superseded versions v2.1, v2.0 and v1.3, which are still in use today.
“We are pleased to release comprehensive CTS specifications to alleviate product interoperability risks between image sensors and application processors utilizing MIPI CSI-2 imaging conduit solutions on complex product platforms,” said Haran Thanigasalam, MIPI Camera Working Group chair. “Thank you to the group’s members for the outstanding work to provide not only a CTS for MIPI CSI-2 v.3.0, but for all four of the most recent versions of MIPI CSI-2, ensuring every company using MIPI CSI-2 has the ability to improve the interoperability of their products.”
MIPI members can now download the following transmitter and receiver protocol CTSs
In other MIPI Camera Working Group news, a new version of MIPI Camera Command Set, CCS v1.1, as well as an accompanying CTS, will be made publicly available in the coming weeks.
