[Register to join us](https://www.mipi.org/events/mipi-aphy-automotive-industry-forum) on **26 January, 08:00-09:30 (PST)**, for a technical overview of A-PHY v1.1, followed by the opportunity to provide input on industry requirements and enhancements to help shape the next version of the specification.

##### New in v1.1 and Next Version Inputs

The virtual forum will begin by covering A-PHY v1.1 enhancements, which include doubling of the downlink bandwidth to 32 Gbps, a faster uplink gear with an available data rate of up to 200 Mbps, and the addition of optional PAM4 encoding for downlink gears G1 and G2 to allow manufacturers to more easily migrate to A-PHY while using either legacy cables on current platforms or lower-cost cables on new platforms.

The A-PHY Working Group speakers will then present a series of potential features and enhancements based on forecasted automotive industry requirements, and poll the audience to gauge industry support. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit additional enhancements and considerations.

##### Featured Speakers: MIPI A-PHY Working Group Leadership

**Raj Kumar Nagpal** serves as co-chair of the MIPI A-PHY Working Group, as well as chair of both the PHY Steering Group and the D‑PHY Working Group. He has more than 25 years of research and development experience in various fields of electronics, including RF engineering, high-speed serial links, signal integrity, power integrity and product validation.

 

**Edo Cohen** is co-chair of the A-PHY Working Group and an active member of the MIPI Technical Steering Group. He has been a member of the Alliance since 2009, contributing in multiple working groups and previously serving as the vice chair and chair for the Display Working Group.

 

Vice chair of the A-PHY Working Group, **Ariel Lasry** has contributed to multiple MIPI working groups since 2009 and served on the MIPI Alliance Board of Directors from 2012 through 2020. He has extensive experience in strategic marketing, product management, business development and industry alliances covering a range of vertical segments including mobile, industrial automation and automotive.
