Gaurav leads the systems architecture function with an emphasis on SoC and key silicon IP for smart home and wearable products, which include Chromecast, Nest cameras and thermostats, Pixel tablets, and Fitbit trackers under the platform and devices product area of Google. In this role, his team oversees technical engagement with external and internal SoC partners and silicon IP providers, and ensures the systems and platform architecture can deliver on the power, performance and sustainability requirements of products.
Gaurav is an established SoC technologist and prior to Google, he spent two decades at various semiconductor companies including Synaptics, MediaTek, Marvell, Broadcom and AMD working on multimedia SoC definition and architectures, custom ML accelerators, embedded systems software and strategic partner engagement. He also was the lead systems architect in the portal product line of Facebook Reality Labs.
Gaurav earned an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, an MS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a BE in electronics and communications engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, India.
