
Thomas Schaeffer

Thomas Schaeffer is a principal engineer and system architect in Intel's Client Computing Group, responsible for defining and driving platform requirements and architecture across premium and mainstream mobile client platform segments. He joined Intel in 2011 and became one of the lead system architects in driving requirements and architecture for low-cost client platforms.
Prior to Intel, Thomas worked with Infineon Wireless, LSI Technologies and Agere Systems as a system architect on cellular modem platforms. During that time, he was the chief architect of the world-leading slim modem platform. He also worked previously on modem and handset designs for nascent wireless technologies at Flarion Technologies.
Thomas earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He then received his master's degree and doctorate in computer engineering from Boston University, where he was also an adjunct professor teaching diverse engineering curriculum.
